Kyoto with Teri and Tom

Orin and I went to Kyoto with Teri and Tom last weekend. It was very hot! I saw that in some places, it was 43 degrees! Can you believe it?
We were only there for a short time, but we were busy. Here are some of the things we did:

We also saw a parade. Many people were going to the big shrine near our hotel. They were carrying big wooden houses on their shoulders! What are they? Can you tell me?

We also saw some maiko. At least, I think they are! Can you tell me?
