Cram School

Did you go to cram school?
I know that many students in Japan go to cram school to prepare for entrance exams. In the US, high-schools and universities do not have entrance exams. Cram schools are not so common there.
However, there is one test that almost every high-school student in the US takes before they go to college. It’s called the SAT.

There are classes that help prepare students to take that test, called SAT Prep Courses. However, I didn’t know many people who took those classes. In the US, I think many peoples’ image of cram school is that it is only for rich people. That’s why I was so surprised when I came to Japan, and learned that many junior-high and high-school students go to cram school. Please tell me about your experience with cram school.
