We talked about the differences between Japan and Canada regarding marijuana laws. It came up because of the recent news about the sumo wrestler who has been severely punished over the possession of one joint, or marijuana cigarette. The laws in Canada are much less severe for possession, although  the sale  and production of marijuana  are still criminal offenses.
