This morning it was "funeral Buddhism" and Shinto or Christian weddings. I brought up an article from the New York Times that was about the Japanese buffetlike approach to religion. The class agreed that this was accurate. At home, people usually stay within the tradition of the family, Protestant, Roman Catholic, Jewish etc. Because of the increasing cost of funerals, a few people are chosing to move away from tradition. Trish and I have stipulated in our wills cremation and dispersal of our ashes. Real estate is outrageously expensive, even for the dead.
