A heavy topic this morning. Tomoko mentioned that she was applying for her teacher's certificate and on the form she had to simply sign that she had no criminal record. In Canada, we have to go to the police station personally and pay a fee for the criminal record. It's quick, I think I waited only 10 days for mine. It's an important issue in Canada. We are discouraged from touching children in the classroom. Every one worries about children being abused physically. Just before we came to Japan, an internet pedophile ring was busted in Canada. It's sad, a few bad apples have made simple human contact questionable.
