Shiho brought in our first topic this evening, Daylight Savings Time. Hokkaido has been experimenting with switching over to DST by having selected companies try it. Apparently it's not so popular because people think they'll have to work longer hours to cover the difference in time with the main island. The majority of the class supported the idea. Takashi is back from his trip to Pennsylvania. He really enjoyed it and found the ideas regarding the handling of cows valuable. He particularly enjoyed visiting two Amish farms. He'll be bringing in some pictures in the future.  Kazuyo brought up an article researching tourism that picked Switzerland as the best travel destination. That might be true if you were a millionaire because Switzerland is outrageously expensive.

Hi, Paul!
Did you enjoy traveling around Hokkaido? I enjoyed this summer.
By the way, I found an interesting topic. With a low birth rate, Japanese government decided to welcome foreign workers. I heard that Japan is one of the countries which would not accept different races. Many people are afraid that crime rate will go up if we accept many foreigners. I am, too. The following is the reference.

Hi Kazuyo, we had a great holiday, with a car trip to Hakodate and then a number of motorcycle trips, twice to Lake Akan, once to Lake Mashu, Furano and Sounkyo, and then a number of shorter trips around this area. Am I a potential criminal foreigner? See you in class, thanks again for your suggestions.
