A small class tonight. Shiho and I talked about the JICA event on the weekend. We met at the international food fair. The food was great, we particularly liked the Sri Lankan and Mongolian food. Shiho liked the food from Bangladesh. Misako is working with a group coming from Penticton in Canada. We went over names to check pronuntiation. She did quite well. I was surprised to hear of the fishermen's strike. I guess it was more symbolic than actually affect supply.

Hi, Paul! l
Do you have a cell phone?
I have one. But I use it just in case my husband needs to contact me when my traveling.
I hate cell phones and cell phone users. Most of them are rude enough to make others uncomfortable. They suddenly begin to talk to the phones in front of people even during the meeting. They exchange e-mails while working hours. It is weird for me to see many people staring at the screen of cell phone to read e-mails anywhere.
Do you think i-phone will prevail among Japanese society? I hope not!

Hi Kazuyo,
I'm not a fan of cell phones, I carry one only for emergencies when we're traveling by motorcycle. In Canada, cell phone costs are ridiculous because providers charge both the caller and receiver for each call. Thanks for the suggestion. We can talk about it in the next class.

Here is the correct URL.

Hi, Paul
I have a suggestion.
As we did in David’s class, let each of us talk about the most impressive news in a week.
I want to practice summarizing stories.
I think a few minutes are enough for each of us to speak.
If our speaking is not enough to make other members understand the news, we can bring the original Japanese newspaper including some pictures and show it to us. Of course the other listeners can ask the questions about it after speaking.
Some might bring very local news, some might be interested in just released new products. It must be fun!
Kauyo
Hi Kazuyo, sounds like a great idea. Let's start this week. See you in class.
