Good afternoon! Well, it was good seeing all of you and talking with you today. It was a pretty dark, dull and cold morning today, so thank you all very much for coming to JOY. We started the class with pair discussions about the topic "food" and my partner was Hideo. We had a very good discussion. Actually, I was surprised that Hideo loves cooking and even cooks dinner four times a week. Good for him! After those discussions, we worked on the new grammar point and we did a lot of work on that. Good evening everyone! Tonight we had a pretty big class with nine students all together. We had a visitor in our class, Emiko, which was very nice. And actually, we also have two new students starting from tonight, Masaki and Minato. So welcome to our class! We now have a full class of ten students! But I guess there isn't really a chance for us to have a full class because I'm sure at least one person will be absent every week. Tonight we started the new unit about leisure. We discussed some questions about the pictures on page 10 and then we listened to a conversation and played a true/false game! We also practiced the conversation quickly. When I left work at ten last night, the sky was fairly clear and it was nice and warm and there was hardly any wind. I even went jogging since it was so nice outside! So I couldn't understand what he meant! But I guess Ikeda must have had different weather than here in Obihiro. Anyway, after we discussed some questions about music, we started the new unit on "Leisure Time." I think it'll be an interesting unit! But it was nice having such a small class for a change. At the beginning of class we talked about how our year has been going so far and about how quickly it has passed. Time is a funny concept when you think about it, hey? After that we had pair discussions about the topic of music and then we worked on the textbook and did some review work, a listening exercise and a reading! You all worked very hard and did a great job. I have to apologize to you though because I got a little confused in class about where we were in the textbook.
