ENGLISH EXPO

| | Comments (2)

Well, It's English Expo time again! This is your chance to meet new people, learn a lot of things about English, and have a good, relaxing time.
English Expo is our biggest event at JOY and everyone here is hoping to see you around. The event takes place over two days, October 25th and 26th. There are many different seminars to choose from and we'll also have an all English party. At the English Cafe in Bucky Hall, there'll also be a good chance for you to talk to Paul, Trish and I while you enjoy sandwiches, donuts and coffee.
If you are coming on the morning of October 26th, please remember to come a little early to make sure you can find a parking space easily.
I hope you all can make it to the event this year. If you have any questions about the seminars or anything else, please ask me or Shinobu or simply e-mail me!
Take care and good luck with your English studies!

Travel Around!

First of all, I would like to thank ALL of you who volunteered and came as guests to this event. Without you, it wouldn't have been the great success that it was. I had a wonderful time and I'm pretty sure that everyone who came also enjoyed the event very much.
There were nine volunteers in total who talked about many different places around the world and even one student who gave a cafe tour of Obihiro.
I took some photos from the event, so please take a look! Do you know any of these students?
PS: Please check Tokue's message from last week's blog entry for Step 2F!

Hello! Wow, this semester has gone by really quickly! I can hardly believe six months has already passed. Anyway, next week will be our last class of the semester. If you plan on returning to JOY, then please make sure you register for classes (the sooner the better).
Also, we will have some events at the end of the week. I hope you will consider coming to the events because it is a good chance for you to use English outside the classroom in a natural setting. Here is a list of our events:
Sept. 25th: Bowling
Sept. 26th: English Cooking
Sept. 27th: Small Talk (a communication activity)
Sept. 28th: End-of-term Party!
I promise you will have a great time at any of these events, so please come!
Have a great weekend everyone and I'll see you all again soon. Until then, please take care!

We will have two events this Saturday (July 8th) at JOY! First we will have the "Travel English" event from 3:00-5:00pm. You will learn a lot about how to communicate in English when you travel to a foreign country. I think this will be an interesting and fun event for you, so pease sign up soon!
Also, we will have the JICA International Party on the same day from 5:30-7:30pm. It will be a great chance for you to speak with many JICA participants from other countries as well as with all the native English JOY teachers. So I'm really looking forward to seeing you there!!!
If you are interested, please sing up soon because time is running out! Let's have a great time studying English and chatting at the party this Saturday! Sign up today!!!

BOWLING is not BORING!

Friday Night was Bowling night! About 12 students and teachers joined the event to go bowling at Sugai. I had a great time, although my score was very low! Other students did very well and tried very hard. Braden also did very well and he got the highest score for the second game! Great job to everyone who came! I hope to see you all again at the next JOY event!
