Winter Break is Over, Welcome Back to JOY!

| | Comments (2)

あけましておめでとうございます!
Christmas and New Years are now over and it's time to concentrate on our daily routines, studies and other activities once again! I hope you all had a great winter break and are now ready to start 2010 with a lot of enthusiasm.
Did you make any new year's resolutions this year? I haven't really made any "official" ones yet, but I'm thinking hard about it.
We have to start thinking about the Spring semester too, which will start in April. So this month I'll be doing student evaluations. This is also a good time for you to evaluate yourself and think about what you can do to improve your English!
Well, take care everyone! I wish you all the best this year!

Happy New Year to you too, Masaki! Great to hear from you! And thank you for writing a comment on my blog. Sorry I haven't updated my blog in a long time though....
I really enjoyed my winter vacation this year, but I didn't have enough time in Canada. That's always the case though, isn't it? And no moose this year!!!
How about you? What did you do? Did you enjoy your winter break?
As for me, I always say two thousand (and) ten. Of course, twenty ten is also correct. The website you introduced to us is really funny. I laughed at it! I mean, who really cares if we use the long way or the short way??? I guess it just depends on the person and what sounds right and/or smooth to them. Please choose your own way to pronounce 2010!
Okay, take care and thanks again for your interesting message! All the best to you this year!

Happy New Year, Joe! How are you doing recently? I'm quite fine.

I think you enjoyed visiting your hometown, Canada during this winter vacation.
Did you get a big fun, and saw a moose again? (laugh)

By the way, here is a topic of decade, 'Naming the 2000s', from current English.
This year is definitely 2010. Which do you call it, two thousand ten or twenty ten? I have a interest in this naming and I listen to this word carefully in these days. I can catch both name. According to some radio or TV news, they say both. So I understand there are OK both. However, which one is more natural?
While, this opinion that is in a web site is pretty strict; see:

What do you think about these?

See you later!
