Step 4D

Hello everyone! Thank you all for coming tonight. Actually, we started off with only a small class of three students. However, gradually, one by one, five other students came in. I realize that many of you are busy, but I hope you will try to make it on time or at least let me know if you'll be late. With a class of ten students, it's difficult to judge how many students will come every week. Anyway, thanks again for coming! We were going to have a group discussion but then I changed that plan after all the latecomers arrived. We had pair discussions instead. Then we worked on the textbook. We studied about relative clauses and also studied some vocabulary. Please make sure you take advantage of the vocabulary handout I gave you last week. It can be a really great resource for you! So have a great week everyone and I'll see you all next week. Bye for now!
PS: If you read this, please write a comment to me on my blog!

Hello Shinobu! Wow, thank you so, so, so much for your looooooong message! You practically wrote an entire book!!! Hahaha....
Actually, I was surprised to read that you went to London 15 years ago because you never told me that before (or at least I can't remember if you did). But it's an interesting story. I will have to check out that band sometime. Do they still make music together or have they split up?
So you'll go to Sapporo to see the vocalist during Golden Week? That sounds like fun! I hope you have a good time. And please tell us all about it after the holidays.
Also, I'd like to thank you for your encouraging words and words of support! I hope all the students in the class try to do what you are suggesting. You study English only one hour and fifteen minutes a week and probably don't use it any other time. So take advantage of the class you're in and work hard to improve and become more fluent than ever! Good luck to each and every one of you!
Okay, I guess I should stop here before I also write an entire book!
Take care and thanks again for your message Shinobu! I hope to hear from other students this week, too.
Bye for now!

Hello, everyone who is watching this blog! (is this "Subject"?)

I enjoyed talking to Fumiko at the beginning. It was surprising to see that she knows my favorite Japanese band! That is "Sing Like Talking". Their career is quite long, but not so famous. I used to belong to their fan club. On the club tour I visited London 15 years ago. In the trip participants were able to talk to members of the band, see an acoustic concert, able to give gifts them face to face and take pictures with them! At the end of tour I got a picture which was taken by professional photographer with their autograph in a frame. (As the result I did know that entertainers are just a man ←in a good meaning)
Anyway I love the band over 10 years. It's my source of energy.
The vocal comes to perform to Sapporo end of this month so I'm going to go. It will be my special plan in this Golden Week. I told Fumiko this story.

To do pair works with Shogo was fun, too! Like him and Fumiko, I'm happy to have partner who speaks English a lot, tries to speak only in English as much as they can, tries to speak with natural sound-I mean, not with Japanese accent- in class. Because we are step 4 now. I don't want to speak or hear Japanese there. I want to keep using English as much as I can. We are Japanese but try to imagine---we're studying overseas in that room-202. Isn't it lovely?

I said strongly but it would be great if someone agree with me even a little. Hey, you! Let's improve together! No improvement without fun, I believe. Don't you think so? I just wanna have fun with you and improve each other.

Wow! What a nice surprise to hear from someone who's not actually one of my students! Thank you so much for writing to me Kyoko! It was great to hear from you!
And yes, I'm going to Canada during Golden Week! I'm looking forward to it, especially since I haven't been back for two years now.
I think Vancouver is a wonderful city! It rains too much there, though. But I'm from Prince George, located in central British Columbia, about 800km north of Vancouver.
I will tell you all about my trip back to Canada next time we meet! Until then, please take care of yourself. And thanks again for your message. Bye for now!
