A variety of things

I did a variety of things today. This morning started off cutting and preparing rhubarb for rhubarb crunch. I usually mix it with strawberries, but we didn't have any so I used some raspberries we had in the freezer from last year. The reason I was making this dessert was some friends were stopping by for tea around 10:00. They live in Nagoya now and were just in Obihiro for a few days.

After they left Noriko and I went to the Chikudai dorm festival. I have never been there before and several students asked me to come and see it. We ate some yakisoba, okonomiyaki (Hiroshima style) and ice cream. They were all pretty good, but there were so many things to eat that it was hard to decide what to have.

Next up was the new Indy Jones movie. It was a lot of fun, but I would say that it is the weakest of the series. At least they didn't try to make Harrison Ford at like a young man. At the theater we bumped into some friends we hadn't seen in a long time, so we decided to go to dinner. We ended up having dinner at a izakaya in Memuro. It was really good and reasonable too.
